Storyline

A bounty hunter is on the trail of a conman who skipped bail. The two wind up in a deserted warehouse where they witness a diamond scam in action, caught in the midst they put their differences aside to team up and detain the looters.

Great action film with load of comedy
posted on 07 Jun 2009All About the Benjamins sets outs to be an action comdey and it succeeds on every level. Ice Cube in the lead role proves his action star status and his writing talent(he co-wrote the sciprt.) Mike Epps in the second lead continues to make a name for himself as a very funny comic and sidekick. The very lovely and sexy Eva Mendes is good in her role as Gina and Tommy Flannigan makes a good villain. Kevin Bray who has directed videos for N'Sync , 112 and Jagged Edge makes a good debut with this fun, upbeat action comedy. New Line has a sleeper hit on their hands with one. I give it 5 out of 5 for being a fun flick.

posted on 06 Jun 2009The Fridays gang steals some diamonds. Mike Epps is not Chris Tucker no matter how hard he tries to be. His constant whinning is enough to ride my last nerve. Plus, everything about the movie is just campy and just wholly unbelieveable that I don't know where to begin. Whatever you do don't buy or rent this garbage-wait to catch it on TBS or something.
Another film with Cube and Epps and show they still have good chemistry.

The movie's about a Bounty Hunter, Bucum(Ice Cube) trying to catch a con man Reggie Wright(Mike Epps) and when he does he finds out that Reggie has info about a diamond heist and they work together to get the diamonds. I recommend this movie to everyone.

posted on 14 Jun 2008this movie was not as good as expected. why ice cube would do another movie with mike epps is baffling to me. this guy is not at all funny. you would think after next friday flopped, they would have got chris tucker again. which is who everyone wanted to see (including myself). this movie was a "money talks rip-off. if you have not yet seen this movie i suggest you wait till it is ava. for rent.

posted on 15 May 2008I enjoyed this film about a bounty hunter (Ice T) who chases a con man who keeps eluding him. When the con man wins the mega lottery and then loses his ticket (in the boat of a nasty villain) he tries to enlist the aid of Ice T to get it back. Unfortunately for him, Ice T does not believe him about the ticket and is not only interested in collecting the bounty for the con man and also recovering several million in diamonds that a bad guy has.Eventually, Ice T starts to believe the con man and they somewhat work together but Ice T maintains a short leash on him until he can beat the villain and get the diamonds.There are some really hilarious scenes and both Ice T and the con man put in excellent performances.An overlooked gem that is as good as any of the Lethal Weapon films!

posted on 19 Feb 2008yep, that was one loud yawn. in this horrid little piece of celluoid i can see the beginning of a new generation of blaxploitation movies. only instead of people with huge afros going on about "jive turkeys" we hear from people with cornrows (Ice Cube's wearing really bad extentions in this flop) bouncing around saying things like "bling bling" and it's well..."all about the bengamins". looking for a plot are you? why would this movie need one, it had money, flashy cars, flashy apartments, flashy slang, flashy women (only acessories of course), sports endourcements, guns guns and more guns, that guy cicero from gladiator, and rap stars out the ying yang. mike epps once again plays the loud mouth "brotha" from the streets who's a con man...suprised. his "antics" get so annoying by the end of the movie you have to fight yourself to keep from throwing your television out the window. i'm suprised that a movie about nothing more than deep unfettered avarice could be taken very seriously. there was some schlock about a lotto ticket and diamonds but who really cares, pass this one up and go read a book instead.

posted on 09 Feb 2008I am becoming more and more a fan of Ice Cube's movies, he is really not a bad writer or a director. I am not however so much of a fan of Mike Epps. Don't get me wrong, he is pretty funny, but something about his voice just bugs me....kind of like Dave Chapelle ("Half Baked"). The movie overall though was fairly entertaining. My game ball for best acting goes to Eva Mendes who played Epps' character's girlfriend Gina who wins the lottery at the beginning of the movie. Unfortunately for her, Reggie (Mike Epps) loses the ticket while being chased by Bucum (Ice Cube). It becomes kind of a running "gag" thorough the movie that he is always looking for his missing lottery ticket. I heard ahead of time that Tommy Flanagan was supposed to play a different kind of tougher villain from Ice Cube, but frankly I was not impressed. With the exception of one scene where he cripples a guy, he didn't seem especially threatening, and his accent was just getting on my nerves. Enclosing, I wouldn't run out and drop $10 to see it immediately, but it's more than entertaining for you and your stoner friends to have a laugh on a Sunday afternoon.

posted on 31 Dec 2007"All About the Benjamins" falls into that category I call "something else" movies. As in, when you watch it, you should be doing something else, e.g., paying bills, talking on the phone, drinking with friends, trying to nail the girl you invited to your place, etc. Do not give it your undivided attention, because it doesn't deserve it.It seems like everyone realized they weren't making a very good movie and phoned it in accordingly. The direction is so vague you'd swear it was done by remote control from a helicopter. No one, even the normally enjoyable Ice Cube, ever breaks a sweat trying to get this movie off the ground.If you held this flick up to your ear, you'd hear the ocean. Easy come, easy go. Stay away, or have that "something else" on deck.

This mismatched buddy movie is every bit as fast, funny and action packed as its triler suggested and prooves that money is really the root of all evil. Ice Cube again solidifies himself as the best muscian turned actor as Bucum, a bounty hunter who will do anything to make a quick buck, but gets more than he bargained for when he is sent to bring in Reggie (Mike Epps), a low life street hustler who accidently gets involved with a bunch of blood thirsty diamond crooks who almost kill BUcum while he is looking for Reggie. Trying to avoid jail, Reggie cuts Bucum a deal that he will give him a peice of his 60 millian dollar loto ticket that is in his wallet, which he dropped while trying to escape from the crooks. Epps is generally goofy and reminds me a lot like Eddie Murphy or Chris Tucker, while still being undeniably hilarious but it is Cube who is the master of his own game as he gives a greatly mastered comedic performance. The plot is complex without becoming confusing, making it even more entertaining than suspected and also puts in lot of laugh out loud humor without becoming slapstick. There are also some very funny lines about big stars like Robert Downey Jr., Mel Gibson and Christopher Reeves. Epps and Cube obviously make a good team which was first showcased in the quirky suprise hit Next Friday and with movies like Trespass, Three Kings and Ghosts or Mars under his belt, Cube is becoming not stranger to good action movies. The direction here is also a cut above other movies usually found in this grene, making this one entertaing romp from start to finish. For everyone who couldn't get enough of Money Talks and loved Next Friday, this movie delivers just what the doctor ordered.

posted on 02 Aug 2007i loved to see ice cube and mike epps acting in next friday, so i bought this dvd "all about the money", whats it called very stupid here in germany......but the film is so funny plus some action, its great!!!!!!!!!!!!
and the specials also very funny with outtakes, a hidden special, trailer, video(trina) and some more.....
even if i'm europeen, buy this dvd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funniest movie I've seen in a long time
posted on 30 Jul 2007I wanted to see this movie in theaters but I never had a chance to. Now that I've seen it I regret waiting this long. The movie alone is about a 5 out of 10, but the comedy makes it a 9. I liked Friday and Next Friday, they had an ok story with some comedy thrown in, but this movie blows them away.If you haven't seen this movie and you're trying to pick out something good to rent, get this one for sure.
A definite replayer!!
posted on 14 Jun 2009I at first hesitated to rent the video, but did anyway one day, and laughed so much, tears were streaming from nowhere.
I replayed it about 4 times. It was unpredictably funny.
Mike Epps seemed to take his role very seriously as an actor in a very funny way. He played the story well, but I could not help but notice improvising of lines between him and Ice Cube in the movie. It worked out well anyway. Epps is more "the star" than co-star in this film. He's convinced me, he's to be up there with the big boys.
Take a chance and see it!
