We're Back
Do You Remember... The Future?
It's About Time.
This movie picks up where the last one left off; with Doc Brown and Marty going into the future to help Marty's future offspring. After doing that they returned to their own time, only to discover that things have changed. They discovered that while in the future, Marty's nemesis, Biff Tannen got the sports book that Marty bought so that he could know the results of sports events and make a killing, but Doc Brown nixed his plans, but Tannen who overheard their conversation, got the book and the time machine and went back into the past and gave the book to himself, who has not only amassed a fortune but also extremely powerful. So Doc and Marty have to go back to when Biff got the book and get it away from him. And it seems that it was in 1955 on the night of the dance that Biff got the book. So not only must they get the book but they must also avoid the other versions of themselves.

A WASTE OF TIME
posted on 31 Aug 2009This movie was a mere shadow of its legendary predescesor. Not only did it lack the humor and heart that made the first movie so great, but the ending simply recycled the climax of part one, which I thought was one of the most suspensful moments in movie history. Also, Leonard Maltin said it had ' considerable inginuity ' HA! The future hill valley is a rip-off of blade runner, the awesome way the wheels on the De Lorean flip up is another bit of recycled footage, and the jigsaw-like plot will turn your brains to pudding. On a more positive note, the acting is great and I'm glad they kept the original cast.
Awesome
posted on 31 Aug 2009If you want to see some of the best acting in a series of films, turn to the Back to the Future Trilogy. Just look at Marty's face at the end of BTTF part I and the beginning of part II when Doc shows up. Or look at Biff's face when a second "Calvin Klein" comes out the door. One of the clever things about this whole Trilogy is the way they wrote many of the scenes so similar, and yet, not quite the same. Sometimes even the music is similar. For instance, the skateboard scene in part I and the hoverboard scene in part II. As for the person who believes that time travel is only possible at 180,000 miles per second or whatnot, how do you know? Have you invented the Flux Capacitor? Have you ever traveled through time? Unless you have done either of these two things, don't judge this movie's accuracy.
This video is excellent.
posted on 31 Aug 2009I think that BTTF part 2 is one of the best films I have ever seen. It has excellent special effects and is the best movie in the sequel. The first time I watched it I loved it. Part 1 is OK, but part 2 is better. Thank you for letting me share my thoughts with you.
Most Interesting of the 3 Films
posted on 31 Aug 2009Because this is the most intelligent of the three BTTF films, it often gets a bad rap for not being the simplistic comedy that the other two are. The truth is - it takes a viewer with intelligence to enjoy it. This puts off many of today's audience who never have to think when viewing film. Not art - but good!
Whoa, this is heavy!
posted on 31 Aug 2009BTTF part 2 is probably the best thought-out of the series. The time-traveling theories presented here are very well-explained yet simple to understand to even the youngest viewer. Though the filmmakers' view of the future seems somewhat cartoonish (and at times exploiting the foreign takeover hysteria of late 80s yuppies), the visuals rock and I would definitely like to go to Hill Valley in 2015. The flying cars concept was also done extremely well. But the film doesn't stop there. Of course, they return to 1985, but not the 1985 they know and love! Which brings them back to 1955. The best scenes come from the collage that is Marty McFly watching himself jamming at the dance. The filmmakers did not skimp there, either; its the very same action as in the first film, but its from different angles. Rob Zemeckis and crew cooked up a winner here.
Best "Sequel" Movie! Fun to watch! Full of Energy!
posted on 31 Aug 2009I'm surprised by Leonard Maltin's negative reviews. "Joyless" ? Not at all - I thought it was a blast! There are many twists and turns, and in fact, I like this movie better than the original (felt a little uncomfortable with Part I's Oedipus complex!). The script is simply brilliant. Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox do an excellent job of injecting life and enthusiasm into their roles, and you can't miss the homages to "It's a Wonderful Life", "Max Headroom", and -- is that Zemeckis' Roger Rabbit and an Apple Macintosh in the display window of the Cafe 80's? It's has all the wholesome fun and flavor of Disney movies like the (classic) "Parent Trap" or "The Absent Minded Professor", so it's more surprising that Disney-phile Maltin gave it a bad review. Sorry, Lenny, this time you're wrong!
I've probably seen this film at least twenty times, and each time is just as refreshing as the last -- so if you're wondering if you should get (or rent) it, go for it!
This is why sequels SUCK!!!
posted on 31 Aug 2009BTTF part II is a poor followup to Back To The Future. All the charm, warmth and humor of Back To The Future isn't here. The plot is convoluted and unpleasant and the acting isn't as good as Back To The Future. Michael J Fox clearly has lost all his 80's charm. He is in no way as appealing as he was in Back To The Future.
Thumbs up, thumbs down.
posted on 31 Aug 2009The DeLorean's hover conversion system was especially unique, and so were the hoverboards. I also liked the way the moviemakers portrayed the future (2015) . But how come in the alternate 1985, another family was living in Marty's house instead of Marty and his family themselves? Like, how did an alternate family get there? There's quite a bit of bad language in the movie :( . And some violence. But other than that I guess it's a cool movie.
One of the Best Movies I have Ever seen!
posted on 31 Aug 2009When your watching the movie, your thinking all throughout it trying to fit all the pieces of the puzzle together. You almost have to stop the VCR and think about what just happened. The casting is excellent and the special effects are awesome! All of the BACK TO THE FUTURE movies make you really think about time, the past, and the future. I like what Doc said at the end of the third movie,"Your future is what ever you make it." or something like that
One of the best 80's movies I ever saw.
posted on 31 Aug 2009Back to the Future part II is just as good as the first one in a few ways. You can't see the first one without also seeing the second. Having a Delorean as a time machine was a great idea. I love that car. My best friend and I always try to out qoute each other from these movies every day. Including the Ghostbusters movies. Another great 80's flick. I can't go more than a month without watching this movie, it's just great nonstop action/adventure. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoyed the first film or the third one.
Must try harder
posted on 31 Aug 2009This sequel to the original Back to the Future is far to complicated for its own good. If you get distracted for more than two seconds you have lost the thread.
Back to the Future 1 was briliant, as was number three, but number two served merely to link the other two together.
Save for the special effects that allowed Marty to see himself I cannot recomend this one.
Bad as it was, the cast cannot be blamed for it, they all worked their hearts out.
Fantastic
posted on 31 Aug 2009I was 10 years old when I first watched this movie. I can say undoubtly that this movie is part of my life. Each time I see the skate scene or mr. Brown's explanation about how the course of time had changed, it seems new to me, although I already know how it ends. The possibility of time travel is so amazing that it is present, I guess, in everyone's dream. The movie makes us think how will our sons be living in 2020, or how our great-grandfather lived 150 years ago. And gives us the oportunity to imagine how it would be if we could be there with them. How about watching the arrival of the Europens in our America, about 500 years ago? Take your seat! ;)Great movie !!

Great movie
posted on 31 Aug 2009The movie is cool, but I found out something weird. In "Back to the Future" Jennifer Parker is played by Claudia Wells. In "Back to the Future" parts 2 & 3, Jennifer Parker is played by Elizabeth Shue. I don't know why. Claudia Wells isn't dead. So why was she replaced????????????
