Live Fast...Play Hard...Die Laughing...
Go Big Or Go Home
While the rest of his high school graduating class is heading to the same old grind of college, skateboarder Eric Rivers and his best friends, Dustin, a goal-oriented workaholic, and misfit slacker Matt have one last summer roadtrip together to follow their dream of getting noticed by the professional skateboarding world—and getting paid to skate. When skating legend Jimmy Wilson's skate demo tour hits town, the boys figure that as soon as he sees their fierce tricks, he'll sign them up for his renowned skate team immediately, right? Unfortunately, the guys are intercepted by Jimmy's road manager and they can't get their foot in the door, much less their boards. But they do get some free advice: keep skating, stay true to yourself, and stay in the game—if you're good, you'll get noticed. Following their dream— and Jimmy's national tour—Eric, Dustin and Matt start their own skate team, reluctantly sponsored by Dustin and his college fund. After recruiting laid-back ladies man Sweet Lou to join their crew and provide the wheels for their tour, team Super Duper launches the ride of their lives in an outrageous road trip from Chi-town to Santa Monica. The professional scene doesn't exactly welcome nobody skaters, but these outsiders stick together through extreme misadventures. In their quest to go pro, they meet professional vert skating champions Bucky Lasek, Bob Burnquist and Pierre Luc Gagnon, skate pro Bam Margera and his crew Preston Lacy, Ehren Danger McGhehey and Jason Wee Man Acuña, as well as sexy skate chick Jamie as they grind handrails across America and force the skateboarding world to give 'em a piece of the action.

its not the best....
posted on 30 May 2009*possible spoiler* i realize that "grind" is not the best movie there is, by far! but there are some mighty funny moments. *dance scene* and some memorable lines "sweet loucleans no man's poop" you just cant beat that. i will proudly say that i saw this move 3, yes THREEE, times and i loved it every time! "you might be leakingbeans..." hahahah. plus, adam brody? hello, love him! so take the movie as it is, a stupid comedy. i love it. the day it comes out on dvd, im the first in line!
Not THAT Bad
posted on 28 Apr 2009I don't understand why everyone is bashing this movie so much. i mean it wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't the worst i've ever seen. believe me there have been worse. I agree that there are a few points in the movie where you want to just close your eyes, fall asleep, and hope that when you wake up there will be some serious board action on the screen. The plot was not the best, but i must say that the humor is definitley for those fans that are into stupid, JACKASS, type humor. The soundtrack for this movie should be pretty good, i mean if you can put Trapt's Headstrong in a movie, it's got my attention. Overall i rated this movie a 7 maybe a six but the constant laughing makes me reach a bit higher. It really wasn't that bad of a movie. Mike Vogel and Adam Brody alone are enough reason to go see this movie!
This movie was sweet.
posted on 02 Apr 2009If you like skateboarding or extreme sports then this movie is great. Yeah the storyline isn't the best and some of the jokes are kinda cheesy but so what. It has skateboarding and hot chicks what else do you want in a comedy. Plus you get an appearance from Milton as the boss at the fast food place and Bam Margera and Wee Man. If your a fan of Jackass and like skateboarding then this movie is definitely for you. Vince Vieluf is hilarious in this movie. He plays a guy who totally looks like he is addicted to crack because of his wild and zany personality. Still not sure what was up with the doll he carried everywhere but his parents are clowns so that can really mess a kid up. Go buy this movie. It's like $10 at walmart. It's really funny to watch when your drunk with your buddies.
all poeple who think this movie is lame can lick my wang
posted on 06 Mar 2009grind is not only an extremely funny movie, but the skating in it and cameos are great, non skaters hate this movie cuz they know nothing about skate culture. with poeple like ryan sheckler, brian sumner, bam margera, terry kennedy, mike vallely in it, you will be very happy, haters can stick this dvd up their butt cuz this movie is amazing
Hollywood Trash
posted on 22 Feb 2009I am a skateboarder. My friends are all skateboarders. Skateboarding is something I do for fun. I thought maybe Hollywood had nailed the skateboard image this time. I was way off.
This movie portrays the side of skateboarding that never actually existed. We dont all actually say the word 'X-treme' in every single sentence. Skateboarding is not about getting sponsored and making money. Skating is really about having fun and meeting friends. I didnt start skating on my little toys'r'us board hoping for fame and fortune. I just wanted fun. Please dont see this movie, because skateboarding should have nothing to do with Hollywood.
I think it's great
posted on 24 Jan 2009I agree with another comment that the critics shouldn't have torn this movie apart like some others! It wasn't all that bad. There were those random parts that you don't think should be in there, but it is a funny movie that you can never get sick of! The crowd that I believe the film is aiming for are those struggling athletes or skaters. There is supposed to be a little more struggle than what they put in, but it isn't a drama, it's comedy. Mike Vogel played his part well, along with Adam Brody. Most of the skating was stunt men, but there were those little scenes where the actors would actually have to skate! These actors actually took plenty of training to learn how to pull off the skating. This is a movie that you can watch with your friends over and over again and never get sick of!
Not for grown ups
posted on 20 Jan 2009Our to pre-teens and a bunch of their mates all of which have skateboards, freestyle bikes etc.. thought this was great. They laughed at all the jokes, ood & ard over the tricks and looked suitably concerned whenever things seemed grim. My husband & myself however knew everything that was about to happen well before it did and grew more and more irritated by the over the top stereotypical characters. Not even the skateboarding managed to save it for us having seen a bit more of it than the kids we were not quite so easily impressed. On the upside they were totally entertained on a rainy afternoon loving so much they even watched the making.
Better than average teen summer flick
posted on 16 Jan 2009It's not going to win any academy awards, and in many ways it's just another formulaic summer teen exploitation movie, but there is something that sets Grind apart by just a wee bit. Perhaps its the straightforward approach, the fact that the movie has much more heart and soul than most of it's ilk (thanks to very good work by the ensemble lead, particularly Vince Vieluf in a wonderful, mostly improvised performance), or just that the filmmakers knew enough to bring Morgan Stone and Tony Hawk's 900 Films onboard for the skating sequences.By far and away the best bits of the flick are the skating scenes, generally performed by professional boarders, including Brian Patch, Brian Sumner, Matt Ball and Chad Shettler subbing for the four main characters, with appearances by Bam Margera, ChadFernandez and a raft of others. You have probably never seen skating sequences as good as this in a motion picture - it's great!"Go for Your Dream," is the film's theme, and it delivers that message with some charm, some drama, and quite a few good laughs. Check it out, dude.
Kinda grows on you...
posted on 10 Jan 2009I was reluctant to pick this one up, but it turned out to be a little better than I thought it would be. I have to admit that I was disappointed that Adam Brody wasn't the main character, and was fairly overshadowed by the much more annoying comedian, Vince Vieluf. I was pretty underwhelmed by the main character, but I'm not totally sure if that's due to poor acting or poor writing... The best thing about this film is probably all of the really great cameos, including a really hillarious, over-the-top skit with Tom Green. Just seeing the looks on the 4 kids faces as Green wears them down with what wasapparently (according to Brody's commentary on the DVD) a 45 minute shoot for perhaps 5 minutes of film, is priceless. We watched that one scene over and over, rolling on the floor with laughter. Oh, and seeing my favorite skater, Bob Burnquist, was also quite a treat! It was also kind of cute how the film references several classic 80's comedies, like "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." I dunno, this movie is pretty silly, but it has it's moments. And if you like cute guys, then I guess that's a plus, too. Hard to say what guys would really think of this flick!

Best Movie Ever
posted on 14 Oct 2008This movie was the best movie I've ever seen! It's non-stop laughs and random jokes. To me, and some of my friends, this is the funniest movie ever, and probably the best movie that has ever existed. I seen it in the movies three times, bought the DVD, downloaded it on my computer, and I watch it every time that it comes on the movie channels. If you haven't seen this movie, then you need to buy it or rent it, or even download it. But either way, you must see this movie if you love comedies. Actually, you don't need to love comedies, if you've ever considered watching a comedy, and you were to only watch one comedy movie ever in your life, THIS WOULD BE THE ONE!!! All the money I spent at the movies, renting the DVD, buying it on Pay Per View, and finally buying the DVD, was well worth it. I could, AND DO, watch this movie several times a day, and I'm still not sick of it!
Skateboarding
posted on 16 Sep 2008This movie is unbelievable. I like this movie because it deals with skateboarding and taking a chance in your life that could lose all your money, humiliate yourself but they took that chance. I liked all the characters. Eric Rivers who is Mike Vogel. Dustin Knight who is Adam Brody. Joey Kern played Sweet Lou. Vince Vieluf plays Matt Jensen. Good cast. Adam and Eric were good friends

This movie is TOTALLY awesome!!
posted on 04 Jun 2009OMG, I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! this is one of my favorite movies and it is packed with funny scenes, catchy songs, and great actors. The story is about three very funny guys, Dustin, Sweet Lou, Matt, and Eric who want to become pro skateboarders so they set out leaving their homes and job, chili n' such, and go across the country giving their tapes to pro's and going to skating demo's. This is just a funny teen movie, the kind that leave you laughing. My friends and I have named this movie "our movie" and have each became a character and can truely recite the lines for hours because they get THAT stuck in youre head and are that funny!! So trust me on this, everyone I know that has seen this loves it and Im sure you will too!!!
