Is Harry On The Boat? Movie
Storyline
TAGLINES PLOT SUMMARY
A bawdy, ultimately moral tale of hedonism's complications, Is Harry on the Boat? is probably the most memorable film to come out of the culture of young singles' holidays on Ibiza. Tour rep Brad (Danny Dyer) is determined to win the informal competition among the male reps to sleep with as many female clients as possible, while his friend Mikey (Des Coleman) is looking for true love. Brad gradually learns responsibility and human concern from the awful examples set by corrupt manageress Alison and self-serving treacherous super-stud Mario. Along the way we get some memorably gross-jokes and one or two moments of rather touching tenderness, as well as a convincing portrait of what people go to Ibiza for—loud, large times of music and drunken excess. Dyer is convincing as a young man who learns better from experience and Des Coleman makes Mikey a three-dimensional, soulful romantic with a wicked sense of humour rather than merely Good personified.

Harry is well and truly this boat's skipper
posted on 30 Aug 2009Sky One again takes residence in the clubbers capital of Ibiza. The teenage stars of the 21st Century take centre stage in this tv movie focusing on the adventures of a group of reps in Ibiza. This show has comedy, romance, drama, and sexual scenes all round, and all in abundance. A little of the acting may seem a little hammy, and a bit of the story may seem forced upon, but all that is overlooked if you appreciate the sheer vulgar comedy and sex scenes which will have you wanting to see more. Is Harry on the Boat? I would have to say he is totally on the ball.
Execllent and really funny
posted on 30 Aug 2009When I saw the ad for this on TV I was expecting another silly Sky One show about Brits in Ibiza but what I got was a really funny and entertaining 2 hours! It was a great show and I would imagine it to be realistic in terms of what those holiday reps get up to when they're supposed to be working. The characters were really good from the poncy loverboy Mario to the good hearted Brad and they were characters that you cared about and were interested in how things would turn out for them. I thought this was going to be a weekly series so I'm a bit disappointed that it was only a once off but I won't complain as it was the best bit of TV I've seen in a while!
It doesn't even explain the title!
posted on 30 Aug 2009I had read the book and that was a good read. The film had the usual cast you'd expect, a mixture from Human traffic, Hollyoaks, Eastenders and Ralph Little made a cameo. It didn't really translate to film that well, as it didn't explain the characters and their relationships enough. However it was shot well, in a kinda quirky style not too original though. In summary watch it for a laugh but the book is a lot less superficial.
excellent

sun sea and sex in Ibiza
posted on 30 Aug 2009Is Harry on the Boat is a hilarious tale of holiday reps in Ibiza, portraying the typical 18-30's holiday to a tee! The actors performances are brilliant, Danny Dyer as new rep Brad, introduced to the debauchery, including an interesting competition, as we are by the hilarious Wil Mellor as Greg. And of course we cant forget Marios 'Big Man!!!'.A brilliant film full of laughs that I would recommend to anyone! Though it is not without its serious moments the laughs come thick and fast. A summer movie to watch with mates that makes you dream of holidays, or even packing in your day job and signing up to be a rep yourself!!p.s The soundtrack generates much interest but an official soundtrack was never released unfortunately. However i do know that one of the songs is Jaydee- Plastic Dreams. its from my favourite bit of the film so check it out for yourself!!!

Great not-so clean fun.
posted on 30 Aug 2009Whilst I can;t pretend to have experienced many of the things in the storyline, Sex, drugs, flirting, relationships, revenge, sun, alcohol etc. I can relate to some and appreciate that the others are good representations of the sorts of things that can happen.I found the feature length production to be greatly entertaining and full of well acted scenarios creating a good sense of what it could be like to have a lucky lifestyle of a young holiday rep.The only fault I could give is that they only made a one off, based on the book. there was so much scope for at least a mini series of say 6 one hour follow up stories.Nice scenery, nice bodies, fun story. Great location.
