Horrible-Rip-Off And Crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

posted on 30 Aug 2009

This is just a rip off.I rented because the movie looked good. This film was cheesy horrible acting and not enough story! The effects were also horrible. The make up horrible!Even some of the cinematography horrible! Horrible! It was just crap!If they are going to make a trilogy, why do they have to screw it up?!The original was better, including the effects, the acting, and the story. The director, producer, and writer didn't even try to make this a good movie.I could tell.I was really disappointed after watching this crap!I can't believe people had to take their time just to make crap!I bet some actors in this movie even hate this load of crap! This movie does not deserve 4.6/10.It deserves 3.4/10 big time! Also it needed lots of razzies!Including it shouldn't be nominated it should win them all!

Corey Haim

I have seen this movie and Corey Haim IS NOT in it...I repeat he IS NOT IN THE MOVIE, now it say's that he is in the cast but that is an error, he was my main reason for wanting to see the movie along with Angus Sutherland. So if you are expecting to see him in the film I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you that COREY HAIM IS NOT IN THE LOST BOYS: THE TRIBE!!!! It's a good movie irregardless, but of course I'm going to say that cause I'm a big lover of everything that has to do with Vampires. Even thou he isn't in it give it a chance and if you are a huge fan of Vampires then you will!!! Well that's all for now, have a nice day and enjoy the movie.

Many things missing in this film

OK, I'll start with this statement: The Lost Boys-The Tribe was not completely utterly horrible. It was mediocre at best. Perhaps my expectations were too high. I love the original 1987 version and using this 1987 version I will explain why I didn't particularly like The Tribe. One problem was that the story was basically the same as the 1987 version. Actually it is exactly the same but with the names changed and the time-frame modernized. Two teens come to live with a relative in a new weird town called Luna Bay and soon fall in with the wrong crowd. Fine-I can accept that the story was the same, but do something original to make it more interesting. In this film instead of the older brother falling into the vampire crowd, it is his sister who is drawn in by a mysterious fun-loving surfer name Shane Powers. This film also makes use of the Frog brothers, which is probably the only link to the 1987 version and a great treat for the Frog brothers fans.A second problem with this film is the vampires themselves. There is not one likable vampire in the bunch! What made the 1987 vampire gang so great was their mysteriousness and edge. They carried themselves well and were not annoying. In this film the vampire "tribe" is made up of annoying but otherwise non-descript characters who like to stab each other and surf on occasion. In the 1987 version I know the vampires names-David, Dwayne, Marko and Paul. I can't recall one name in this film-other than Shane Powers. In other words, the vampires aren't memorable. The acting wasn't very good either. As has been mentioned before, Angus Sutherland's acting wasn't powerful and mesmerizing like Kiefer's Sutherland's acting in the 1987 version. The character that he played-Shane Powers- also lacked power. True, he rode a motorcycle and surfed and donned sunglasses, but a good villain needs something more to be memorable and liked.Other than that, the rest of the problems I found with this movie were purely ones of personal taste. I prefer the 1987 version because it takes place in the 1980s and displays a carnival boardwalk and ocean while this version takes place in "Luna Bay". No mention is made as to where Luna Bay is and the scene was poorly established so we know nothing about this new place that the Emerson's came to live. I also didn't like how half the time someone is drunk or naked. To finish up my comment, I feel that what made the 1987 film work was its sense of humor mixed in with horror and a mini love story. With The Lost Boys The Tribe I was left feeling unfulfilled and a little disappointed.

Ooops!

The film forgot what it was addressing. The original was a minor classic, knew the land it trod and remembered it. This one didn't. It seems the first was written by adults that remember some of those "subjectives" when they were teenagers. This one seems to be written by teenagers who were never adults; or at least, forgot that point of view.Rotten in the extreme.Same story but told by new and un-original "really cool new takes" that are about as lame as they come.Somebody somewhere in the works here absolutely and positively wasn't paying attention.Could have been really cool. Probably shouldn't have been messed with. This is a mix-mosh of what-those-who-don't-understand-what-is-cool think cool is.Cool music, cool noise, cool stuff, unless they are cool-ly presented ... aren't cool.DOA movie. Why, oh why, did they have to ruin this?

2 fangs out of 10 - this movie bites and sucks

posted on 10 Aug 2009

Doesn't anyone know how to make a good vampire movie anymore? A vampire movie should be dark and chilling, the vamp should be terrifying and make you scared of the dark. Instead we get Lost Boys 2 where the vamps are a handful of dumb punks, legend lore is tossed out the window in favor of lame special effects, and the experienced vampire hunter hasn't improved his skills since he was 12 and has a sore throat or something - Feldman's voice made me laugh every time he spoke. Hollywood needs to stop using special effects as a substitute for quality story telling. Spend more time and money on plot, mood, and acting, and less on trying for the wow factor. Lost Boys 2 is a lame, poorly written, farce of a vampire movie. Don't waste your time with this one - it sucks.

Decent sequel could have better!

I've watched this movie twice so far and it isn't bad. For those who don't know the brother and sister in the film are the children of the late Michael and Star Emerson from the first film which makes Sam their Uncle who have come to rent a place from an Aunt of Star's named Jillian. Angus Sutherland does a fine job as the head vampire but he could have been given a little more dialogue and you can't compare his character with his brother Kiefer Sutherland's David from the first film. Angus' character Shane brings some class to the movie but he nowhere has the menacing behavior of his brother's character from the first film. Angus resembles and sounds like his father Donald Sutherland. When seeing the preview for Lost Boys:The Tribe the Beach Babe Massacre scene I thought possibly the character who told his victim "We're vampires" was the Shane character because he resembled Kiefer Sutherland and later when I saw the film found out that the actor I thought would be Shane was no Sutherland at all but instead was playing Shane's number one sidekick John. I was glad to see Corey Feldman back as Edgar Frog he doesn't even look two decades older but Corey Haim he has aged terribly and looks dissipated. Here comes the spoiler at the end of the cast credits it looks like Corey Haim is one of the undead or he could be a half-vampire because twice in the movie it is mentioned that Edgar's brother Allan Frog (Jason Newlander) from the first film and second film is now a vampire and in the alternative endings it shows the vampire Allan and vampiress friend racing to Luna Bay to settle a score with his brother and hinted at in the second alternative ending put the bite on Corey Haim's character Sam. Lost Boys: The Tribe is worth the DVD rental price but it would have to have a better script and special effects to be box office material. Now with talk of Lost Boys 3 about Frog versus Frog or Frog saving friend Sam from being one of the undead or Frog versus both his vampire brother Allan and old friend but new vampire Sam it will be worth the wait as to what Warner Brothers decides the story will be. I hope it will be better than Lost Boys II:The Tribe. Lost Boys II:The Tribe in my opinion was good sequel that could have been a little better and the Cry Little Sister song remake was just as good as the original!

Completely Disrespectful!

This would have been rated at about two stars had it not been for the well-done gore and closely mimicked atmospherics of the original (see: opening sequence). The pros end there, however, for atmospherics turn to direct copying - and often. What a crap sandwich this movie was. This movie copied the original in its entirety at times. The complete lack of originality, conspiring with sub-par acting and weak direction, is enough to make you wanna find a Warner Brother and slap him hard in the face. Why make this film? Why let Corey Feldman over-act his part to the point of silliness? Pretentious, silly, utterly retarded. Why, God?The production team had it easy, however: Hire a Sutherland (who was rather decent), enlist The Corey's, sign a few would-be teen throbs to carry the leading rolls, spend the plethora of cash on hand at WB, post-pro, etc - and your golden.Great. Money is the mover, is it not? Okay, lets get real. This movie could've been two things: 1) An inspired original (see: decent director, and, most importantly - a solid writer); 2) A funny as can be, cult-like and indulgent pick up with some of the originals like Feldman/Haim/a sutherland, etc. They would've had bigger roles, obviously, with the story centering around something in their characters' lives. That would've been fine, too, so long as it had original writing. But it was not so...they cheated, and even botched the cheat! You can not give Corey Feldman the EXACT lines he was using in the original. That was a large error on the part of the lazy-ass writers who scripted this. When they set out to make this, they tried going for a hodge-podge of viewer markets. Wrong move. You sequel a classic, you automatically have your viewership. It is far more important that you treat it respectfully. The old quality versus quantity line.Since I believe that mostly every one who participated in this movie is probably talented in their own right, I can only blame Warner Bros.-Jro

The Lost Boys Sequel is a kick-ass Sequel

posted on 08 Aug 2009

WOW OH WOW What a sequel I could not believe how good it it. Corey Feldman once again kicks ass as vampire hunter Edgar Frog. I loved his one-liners like "Who ordered the stake" while holding two stakes. I'm sure all you lost boys fans will love this one like I did. The Plot centers on Chris and Nicole Emerson (son and daughter of Michael and Star from the first film). they rent a cabin and go to a party where they meet Shane that seduces Nicole into his power. Chris seeks the help of Edgar frog and together they do what's best kick some undead ass. The ending was a surprise for me didn't expect it to happen.I loved it and hope there will be a Lost Boys 3.

So bad, its not even funny.

Loved the original, hated this dire effort. The acting is wooden and dry, which is no surprise as the script is a turkey. The effects are low fi and the story is as shallow as a teaspoon. The direction and lighting is amateur at best, while almost everything that happens does try to pay homage to the original, it is almost insulting. The story of the original had the suspense, at first we are not even sure what happens to the victims. It had a half decent story, a pair of adolescent boys move to a new town and try to fit in, without knowing what they're trying to fit in to. The soundtrack of the original will always standout as everyone knows the title track. The original has all the iconic scenes that an entire generation will remember, while this film has none. There's no reason to spoil your memories of the original with this tripe. It doesn't deserve to bare the name of the first one. Save your money and your time.

Just watch it.

For the ones out there this movie is working up to a Lost Boys III.But they had to make this one first if you see then you know why. If your a fan you will understand where this is going. To understand the story lines better of this movie read the Reign Of Frog comics. Or else you maybe don't understand this movie. Take it as it is and it will serve you right. And i hope they are gonna make a part III. At least to finish the story line it will be a blast according to Feldman. Feldman said in an interview that they have already a storyline for a part III written with this one. So kick back relax and watch it, if you don't like your not a true fan.P.s The first movie is perfect it stands there lonely at the top of all Vampire movies

Well...it was good

When I first heard that the sequel was being made, I was stoked! So I rent it, watch it, and well it was pretty good. I really enjoyed the gore, especially in the opening scenes at the beach, but I was really disappointed with the special features. No music video for "Cry Little Sister" by Aiden, which is only played like two minuets in the whole movie but not at the end. Another thing that I didn't enjoy was the fact that Cory Haim was only seen in the extras, and not in the film. I really would've liked to see him and Allen Frog incorporated in the storyline. But all in all I give it a 6. Sure its not as good as the first one, but I think that Angus Sutherland has potential to be a good actor; not quite as good as Keifer, but he's got potential

Worth your time even if only to see Corey Feldman back as Edgar Frog.

posted on 25 Jul 2009

Is this as good as the original, not a chance in hell. Is it worth watching, absolutely. Corey Feldman is entertaining, a good actor and the movie works on a whole other level because he's in it. If it wasn't for his presence this would be just another forgettable vampire movie that could have been twice as good as it turned out. Overall, aside from Corey, the movie itself is interesting enough though. It has it's moments, some good special effects and some decent acting. Plot wise however it has almost nothing to do with the original other then Edgar Frog. If you've seen the first you'll notice some moments that seem to pay homage of sorts to it, but they come in passing and you have to watch for them.Unfortunately as with most sequels and remakes these days there's the obvious attempt to update it to our times which does nothing but hurt the film. I'm not saying it should have been set in the eighties or anything, but there's quite a few things in it that the movie simply could have done without. Certain fashions, hairstyles, lesbian scenes etc. Speaking of which, this is one of those rare movies where I actually found myself thinking the sex scenes and sexual references were totally unnecessary. On the topic of updating things, the soundtrack is alright, but nothing compared to the that of the original. If I were making this movie, I would have kept the original version of Cry Little Sister without question. I would never have gone with a new version, regardless of who sang it. Cry Little Sister was as much a part of the original as Feldman and it set the mood of the entire movie. The newer version is alright but like most things in our time, it's sort of blah compared to the original. There's no point in going in to deep reviewing this movie because as I've said, it's alright but Corey Feldman certainly steals the show and is the main reason anyone should watch this. I do think it worth mentioning as well that for the most part the entire cast is really quite good. Feldman simply outshines the rest and is far more memorable.Watch it, but don't expect to much out of it and the movie is enjoyable enough. Watch it if for no other reason then to see Feldman back in the role of Edgar Frog, and you will definitely like the movie. After seeing it I still find myself wondering why the studios were so short sighted. Lost Boy's 2 could easily have been as big a hit as the first film if more planning, effort and money had gone into it. It's a sad state of affairs in Hollywood when something with this much potential is relegated to a straight to DVD title.

You call this Lost Boys?

I don't know what they were thinking. The story of this film is exactly the same as the first film, new people move into town with vampires, one of them joins the clan and is becoming a vampire. The acting was awful and there were hardly any vampire moments. It was cool that Corey Feldman returns but does'nt show up much and his brother is not in it.The script was stupid, basically the whole film is stupid. Has no vampire originality.Hope Keifer Sutherland didn't watch it, because If I was him, I would ask, What is this, is this a joke.

As much as i love the first film , i mean come who doesn't its a classic, and after all the hopes of a second one , and after watching the two Corey's, and the ever so hope full return of both of them in the second film ,,,,,,,,,,,,, it was a LET DOWN , where in the first one does SAM get bitten ??????????????? and to leave him to appear after the credits , well that just ain't fair :( the tribe should have been left on the directors floor ,Although a reasonable film that is watchable if you have not seen the original LOST BOYS ( then where have you been ? ) did in your big brothers video collection and I'm sure you will find it ;) i just cant believe the fact that Sam is a Vampire after every thing that happened in the first film :(

Not Sexy and Not Cool - Potential Of Film Never Tapped into

posted on 17 Jul 2009

As I watched the intro I immediately became impressed. We get a taste of what the vampires will be like later in the film... (Scary, ruthless, and appalling). Unfortunately, the movie starts to fall short immediately there after. The Lost Boys 2 Had a lousy script, But a nice cast. I truly believe this film could have been 1000% better and shown in theaters if the script was tighter and only used Cory F. in a cameo appearance. Perhaps turn him into a vampire. Unfortunately, Corey's character really wasn't needed and made the movie laughable (In a bad way). The rest of the cast looked great (Especially Angus), but the script made it impossible for anyone to act.I must have watched the original at least 50 times. To this day, it still remains my ALL TIME FAVORITE. It had Sex appeal in both vampires and humans. Also, wonderful comedy relief and suspense. The Lost Boys 2 offers NOTHING original except the fact that we finally get to see a female vampire.... I must say, It wasn't worth it. I think the original film got it right by not showing Star (Jamie G.) transforming. Vampires in this movie seem to be overly re-invented. The make-up tries to make them look scarier, which wasn't at all necessary. It was the dialog / script, acting, and suspense that made the original scary. The make-up for this film seemed to be over the top. By The Way, Who are the new Emersons? There is absolutely NO back story with them or the rest of the cast. Perhaps this movie could have been better as a prequel?

I registered just so I can say this.....I was terrified they would not get the first movie, and that it would not be as awesome. But they did, and it was that @$@#$@# funny. They nailed it, watch it and laugh..they even quote the warriors....my one complaint is that Corey Feldman and me have not gotten drunk together...because that would be AWESOME!!!!!! Just saying' Oh...it needs to be longer to get posted...so I will add that if you watch this movie.....vampires will eat your family and Edgar Frog will save you. Grrrr.....still need more lines....um.....but it's really good so let me post this stupid thing already....I know you are wondering.Seriously....good time!

For a STV it was Great!

I was pleasantly surprised with this, it was good.. at some points in the film you get a little bored and you wish some scenes were cut down while others extended.. but for a STV release this is top notch! CoreyFeldman looks surprisingly young (compared to his show) and acted quite well (unexpectedly) the scene half-way into the credits was a nice treat along with the references made to the original and the goonies, overall i was quite satisfied and would definitely recommend this.I have to add though, i wish they put a tad bit more effort into it (some more back-story a little more development before the whole shh-bang) and had a cinema release.. with just a little bit more work i think this could have done quite well in the box office. But again for a STV release this was a great treat

Not good at all but enjoyable

Lost boys: The Tribe 6/10 Not being born in the 80's, my generation is not expose to the original Lost Boys. I remember getting a glimpse of the original Lost Boys on VH1 and I fell in love with the story of being immortal as a teenager until Corey Feldman kills you with a water gun fill with holy water. Also, not a gore lover but the blood in the original had a unique look. The brother and sister duo in this movie were ehh. Corey Feldman plays the same role form the first movie. If you seen the first one he is enjoyable part of the movie. Tom Savini makes a brief cameo in the beginning. This sequel that was made twenty years after the original should of been made in the 80's. Because the characters should of been expanded and not of been a lame retelling of the original. Sutherland's son is in this movie which you can tell the similarities from the beginning of the movie. He was only interesting vampire in the movie.Sum up: Least favorite parts: bad acting, uninteresting plot, vampire cam shots Favorite Parts: Sutherland's and Feldman's characters Recommendation: If you got nothing to do and really have to see an expansion of the lost boy story then just don't pay for it

There's a reason this went straight to DVD.

posted on 05 Jul 2009

Okay, truth be told: This sucked. I mean it completely sucked.I had decided to watch this with dinner after it arrived from Netflix. After 5 minutes, I turned it off. In 5 minutes it managed to have more gore than the first one (a group of vampires rip out this other vampires' guts brutally and then cut his head off in full detail) and had way more language (these teenage vampires hop a fence and continuously call each other 'bitch' along with plenty uses of the F Bomb as well). This probably went straight to DVD to avoid angry critics and people groaning as they left the theater. It wanted to make a killing in DVD sales, and I hope it fails. If this is all that the new directors have, it's pitiful. It's crap like this that makes me sad.Don't see it, it sucks. I only gave it a 2 because they kept the song.2/10

my opinion after watching the movie

posted on 03 Jul 2009

just watched it and i must say watchable. but i'll find it hard to spend the money on it. if your watching for Corey haim and newlander don't watch. newlander not even in it. and i swear haim which is why i watched it is in it for a total of maybe 30 sec. at the end when the credit roll. maybe they have more scenes on the DVD special features. we'll just have to wait and see. they did however leave it open for a potential great 3rd. spoiler. the very end haim is indeed a vampire. but if you turn the movie off when its done you will miss him. the credits start to roll then cuts back to Feldman and haim in a scene.i can say i will buy this only because the first was my favorite movie .and now that there is a sequel i have to own this as well. will true fans of the original be disappointed.YES. but after all these years i had to see it.
