A good addition..
posted on 31 May 2009Not everyone likes the new additions to the Scoob-iverse. To those people I have only this to say, at least there is no Scrappy. My daughter and I are happy with them so you won't here me complaining.
Scooby and the Gang find themselves stuck in New Mexico with another mystery to solve. Aliens are on the prowl and things are just not right out at Scorpion Ridge. Who are these weird Aliens, how are Scooby and Shaggy's new love interests going to work out, and why is that mechanic so cranky? The answers are out there, you just need to watch to find them.
Good for little kids
posted on 03 May 2009My son is 4 and this is his current "favorite movie ever"... He and I have watched it about a dozen times and it holds up well over repeated viewings. He gets a little distracted during Shaggy's love song, but it's short. And there are only a few mildly scary scenes, such as the aliens chasing Shaggy and Scooby. For the most part, there is nothing that will cause nightmares in young kids as long as they are already accustomed to the Scooby-Doo world of "bad guys wearing monster masks".
A welcome invasion!
posted on 17 Apr 2009I have to place this movie second to Zombie Island. Though not as good as that one, it was definitely better than Witch's Ghost. I loved the entire plot. It mixed some old school Scooby Doo (bad guys in masks) with some new (real monsters and romance). Speaking of, I think the romance between Shaggy and Crystal and between Scooby and Amber worked just fine despite what others have said in their reviews. I loved Shaggy's love song as well. It was corny, but cute. I'm 25 and I've been a big Scooby Doo fan since I was younger. I own all three Scooby Doo of the movies and hope there will be more to come.
The Best Scooby Doo Movie I Ever Saw!

An fine family animation movie.
posted on 29 Sep 2008The plot:Scooby Doo and his gang are going to road trip near in the desert. Scooby Doo and Shaggy believe that they saw a alien spaceship and then later. Then the both saw, them later as a test experences. Then a old man, believe he saw them too. Then one unknown young female and her dog, believe that is alien exist among us. Not terribly funny as the another Scooby Doo films or episodes, but worth viewing once. OK movie, at times, could have better. But i do like Scooby Doo and the Zombies is much better. DVD picture quality and sound is pretty good for a direct to video. Grade:B.
Forgive me, I'm a purist.
posted on 13 Sep 2008I simply cannot help but long for the old days. Is it just meor is Velma practically anexoric in this film? It's not very becomingthe way scooby and the gang have become so commercialized. Three yearsin a row now they've cranked out these for the most part poorlywritten, quickly pieced together, quick money, straight to videoflicks that were not very groovy, not very groovy at all. I gotta'like them, being scooby movies and all(I've seen everything withscooby, even the scrappy eps.... ugh...) Ah well, it has it'sredeeming qualities... minus the Shag and Scoob romance. What werethe writers thinking there? Well, it's becoming progressively sad butit is scooby and the gang so enjoy die hard fans, even if you gotta'overlook a lot of [stuff] it's scooby, it's classic. END
Good Scooby-Doo movie
posted on 30 Aug 2008I enjoyed watching Scooby for as long as I remember. In this movie I felt that all the charecter had " grown up" as they changed their clothes, and their van was newer. It is not the best Scooby, as it was somehow slow action and relatively easy one to solve mystery, but I had alot of fun watching Shaggy & Scooby falling in love. Actaully I watched twice before I returned. if you are an avid Scooby fan, you will like it, but not as his other movies (Zombie...)
Classic Scooby-Doo
posted on 05 Apr 2007After seeing SCOOBY-DOO AND THE CYBER CHASE, I rent to the video store to rent some more SCOOBY-DOO movies. This was one of them. I was expecting this to be like the SCOOBY-DOO movies Warner Brothers have benn putting out the past couple of years, but this movie seemed more like an episode of the SCOOBY-DOO television show than the other SCOOBY-DOO movies have. I like the other SCOOBY-D00 movies although they don't really seem to capture the spirit of the classic television show. However, this one had the spirit of the show and that's what I like about it. Another thing I like about it is that it doesn't use computer animation like so many animated film today. It uses hand-drawn animation that looks just like the kind on the television show. I loved the premise since I am a fan of movies involving aliens and the music was the best I've heard in an animated film in a long time. Recommended to all Scooby fans and anyone who wants to see a great animated flick.
Another great Scooby Doo
posted on 10 Mar 2007The mystery may be a little weaker than in previous Scooby movies but this is still well worth your time and showcases the huge potential in the revamped Scooby franchise. The Mystery Inc. gang break down in the desert (déjà vu?) and have to stay the night in a nearby town where the locals rant about aliens kidnapping cattle. So obviously they are up for investigation.I still don't like those stupid sound effects that are STILL (!!!!!!) used when Scooby or Shaggy BEGIN to run away. You know what I'm talking about. It sounds like someone rattling a quarter around in a tin can. It's pretty lame, considering all the thought and effort that has went into updating the franchise, that these old-fashioned and cruddy sound effects are being used in this day and age.But that aside there is a lot of fun to be had as Shaggy falls in love (his song is way cool), is kidnapped by the aliens along with Scooby and the gang suspecting a rather unfriendly mechanic. Scooby Doo is going places (even further if they do away with those sound effects) and next time the writers should focus more on plot and mystery as this one was wrapped up in a disappointingly short 74 minutes. The movies that followed progressively got weaker and weaker.
Mediocre At Best
posted on 15 Dec 2006If you are expecting the same power and intensity of "Zombie Island" or "Witch's Ghost," then you are setting yourself up for a disappointment. It is possible that certain powers felt that the 1st 2 Scooby movies were too much for children. With this 3rd movie however, there is a loss of impact, suspense, character development, and even mystery. It may be true that even a mediocre Scooby movie is better than none at all. But this movie is almost boring after "Zombie Island" or "Witch's Ghost."
Moving on, Scooby and the gang have car trouble in a desert. Fred, Daphne, and Velmah go on foot for help, while Scooby and Shaggy spot what may be an alien invasion. With their famous and hilarious cowardly ways, they run and eventually meet the rest of the gang at a restaurant. At the restaurant, the gang seems surprised that other patrons aren't overly surprised at the possibility of an alien invasion. We also meet Lester who is eccentric, but still aware of what has been going on in the area. Lester lets the gang stay the night, and Scooby and Shaggy have their first encounter with possible aliens.
Moving on, Scooby and Shaggy meet Crystal and Amber, and are attracted to them. They later meet the mechanic Buck, and a team of scientists (who we have already met). Unlike "Zombie Island" and "Witch's Ghost," the misleads are not well drawn. Also, rather than being surprised by the identity of the villains, we probably knew a long time ago who they were. Even when we are introduced to the most 'unusual characters' in the story, it is disappointing, because it was so obvious.
I won't deny that there are some good moments in the movie. (For undoubtedly the 1st time, Scooby and Shaggy want nothing to eat at a restaurant!) And it was interesting to see our cowardly but heroic Shaggy and Scooby in love. It's a fair Scooby movie, but not great.
Extremely entertaining!
posted on 11 Oct 2006I loved this movie, when it came out, and despite one or two minor flaws, it is like a trip down Memory Lane. The animation is faultless, and i loved the music in the opening credits, with the planets, totally relevant to the title of the film. The voice talents, as is usually the case with the Scooby movies, save a couple of exceptions are excellent, a notable standout being Mark Hamill as Steve. Jeff Bennett was also really entertaining as Lester, and I loved the constant fighting over the Scooby snacks. The plot, overall was good, not the best, but those aliens to a young child are pretty scary. My only complaints are the sweet but rather soppy love song in the diner, and although I liked the romance between Shaggy and Crystal, it got a little distracting from the plot. All in all, I really liked it, and I hope it has a decent rating like Witch's Ghost and Goblin King. 8/10 Bethany Cox
Shag and Scoob Come Of Age
posted on 06 Oct 2006You wouldn't think anyone could come up with anything new for Scooby Doo, but amazingly, the movies released in the last few years have done just that, and been pretty good.
Scooby Doo and the Alien Invaders is brilliantly made to appeal to adults, in ways children won't catch. For instance, there's a very subtle visual indication at the beginning of the movie that Fred and Daphne are actually sleeping together, but it's so mild no kid could possibly realize it. Velma's closing line has a similar bit of business that will have adults laughing out loud, but no one under high-school age would even notice. There's a calculated cutaway from a scene where a character describes his supposed alien abduction, exactly when it is obvious (to an adult) he is discussing - er, a "delicate" personal probe.
Funniest of all, though, is Shaggy and Scooby simultaneously falling in love - with a cute '60s hippie chick, and her dog. Shaggy shaves his trademark scraz, combs his hair, and actually dresses up. He sings a wonderful love-fantasy song that expertly parodies Sonny and Cher's "I Got You, Babe," which will definitely have you laughing yourself off your chair if you've ever been a fan of either Scooby Doo characters or 1960's music. It's just very funny.
Following the lead of other recent Scooby movies, the gang find themselves up against not only the usual crooks in masks, but actual aliens as well, all in pretty clever style. And, just as former entries in this cartoon movie series have included vocals by recognized artists, Jennifer Love Hewitt gets into this one's act by singing the theme song. This one isn't quite as good as Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost, but it's well worth watching - especially for the adults, but kids will love it too.
Scooby Meets the X-Files
posted on 05 Aug 2006The characters are the same, but their familiar clothes are updated slightly (Turtleneck on Velma is gone, Ascot on Freddy gone, Daphne is in shorts and a tank top, etc) The Mystery Machine is a close match and more importantly the voices are close to the originals. There are new songs and an updated version of the familiar theme song dune by Jennifer Love-Hewett. MOST IMPORTANTLY THE FAMILAR GENRE IS ALMOST THE SAME! Beware, however, as "the hormones" are almost on overdrive, and curve hugging outfits are a bit overdone. There is a cute love song & animation sequence. The program is safe for kids, but not as innocent as the originals. The title mentions aliens and delivers. It almost looked like the writers had worked for the "X-Files" as there were plenty of similarities. There were several advertisements for Cartoon Network show-themed videos and a short non-Scooby film afterwards. The video lasted 73 mins.

My 5 year old son loves this one!
posted on 03 Aug 2009This is a really cute Scooby Doo. For months my son talked about Crystal from Scooby Doo (he had watched it at his babysitters). Finally we caught part of the movie on TV and I was able to the Title. I ordered it and suprised him with it. He loves it. It's cute to watch Shaggy and Scooby going all lovey dovey over Crystal and her dog. I think most kids will enjoy it and as a long time Scooby watcher and fan I did too!
