I have my eyes on you.. again.

I wasn't expecting much, but still I couldn't help but feel letdown after my first viewing of it. It was all too conventional, and basically a rushed sequel to director Alexandre Aja's 2006 remake "The Hills Have Eyes". It wasn't nearly as intense and gritty, but more so outrageously tacky and bloody soaked straight-forward horror fable. This meant it should have been more fun with its extremities, as the social allegories (compared to Aja's grandeur take) was less of a concern. However the second time around I kind of warmed up to it, but there's no question it's rather mediocre. Well it couldn't be any worse than Wes Craven's original 1985 sequel. Actually I don't think that one is that awful… well not as bad as its reputation. To up the ante it drills in a fast tempo with an action orientated mind-set, but after starting good enough (some decent shocks, dark humorous streak and well shot exterior photography), eventually it succumbs to the same old mundane pattern when the action hit's the underground mines. That's were my interested faded, and the comic book injected story (penned by Wes Craven and his son Jonathan) showed up how plain, repetitive and uninspired it was. Death sequences are aggressive and elaborately staged. One by one they're picked off and it comes down to primal instincts for survival as they encounter a notorious bunch of cannibalistic mutants. Being filled with stunts galore it was psychically demanding and some set-pieces pieced together that strenuous vibe. The surroundings evoke a dusty dust bowl of harsh and unsparing conditions that work with the nauseating and unflinching visceral side that director Martin Weisz imposes. Even his pacing feels very well judged. The music score and especially the sound FX didn't really register and have sense of place. The cast (Eric Edelstein, Michael McMillian, Jessica Stroup, Daniella Alonson, Jacob Vargas and Flex Alexander) do a steady job with such ordinary characters that we've seen all before.

Join the army! Meet undiscovered mutated humanoids… and get killed by them!

Okay, let's not get confused here. If this is a sequel to a remake of an original horror classic, does that mean it also automatically is a remake of the original horror classic's sequel? Here's to hoping that's not a general rule, as Wes Craven's own sequel to the original "The Hills have Eyes" – released somewhere during the mid-80's – is easily one of the worst and absolute most redundant horror movies ever made. Part two didn't have an actual plot and re-used footage of the original only to further exploit the success of the genuinely gritty and petrifying premise. Craven also wanted us to believe even dogs suffer from flashbacks and painful memories, as the loyal German Shepard of the Carter family re-experienced his bloody fight with one of the mountain hillbillies. There were quite a bit of alarming signs indicating us that this sequel would be a horrendous failure as well. The remake came out barely one year ago and here's the sequel already? The incredible speed of its release righteously causes you to question the quality of the script. Don't they need a little more time if they want to come up with a film that should be scary, menacing and disturbing? With his excellent film, Alexandre Aja nearly single-handedly altered the general opinion about horror remakes, as he had the courage and intellect of changing essential elements in the plot and adding more nauseating gore than anyone could ever had hoped for. Also, Aja is quite a talented young director and made himself noticed with his French instant cult classic "High Tension", but who is this new director? Aja's "The Hills Have Eyes" was an unexpected hit, appreciated by both experienced and older generations of horror fans as well as the younger and over-enthusiast target groups. It's a really good film and, even though an avalanche of new sequels and clones will be inevitable, it's highly unlikely that one of them will ever equal the surprising quality level of Aja's smashing hit. Bearing all this in mind, plus a rather large dose of personal skepticism, I must admit this rushed sequel really isn't as awful as anticipated. The screenplay is routine and clichéd horror fodder, introducing a fairly large number of characters with few or even no backbone and tastelessly depicting how they get slaughtered by traditionally repulsive-looking freaks. After the events of the first film, the US army has set up a camp in the middle of the New Mexican desert to investigate the effects of the nuclear tests, which took place there in the 50's and 60's. For the horribly mutated survivors of the miner's community that stayed there during the radioactive testing, the scientists and researchers form a tasty starter until the main course of incompetent soldiers arrives by truck. They are just supposed to drop off food and supplies but encounter their ultimate military training exercise when faced with the relentless humanoids that live inside the remainders of the mines. This basically is just another by-the-numbers slasher with dumb characters who are, even after losing several of their friends already, still stupid enough to separate themselves from the group and act like easy targets to kill. It's also very easy to point out which ones will make it out of this adventure alive, especially when one of the soldiers is against all types of violence and another one continuously stares at video images of her cute 3-year-old son. "The Hills Have Eyes II" completely lacks – as to be expected – originality, logic and plausible situations. The mutated miners aren't nearly as menacing as their colleagues in part one, mainly because they aren't organized this time and only just behave like drooling and sex-hungry prototype monsters. Since you don't care for the amateur G.I. Joe "heroes" and definitely don't feel any sympathy for the eyes in the hills, this film is a whole lot less compelling and involving than last year's original. Most peculiarly, this second film isn't nearly as violent and gory as the first! Sequels usually compensate the lack of suspense and the absence of surprise-twists with extra bloodshed and more graphic killing sequences, but the action in this sequel is really tame compared to the sick footage featuring in its predecessor. There are a handful of scenes to satisfy the bloodthirsty horror fanatics – mainly showing soldiers falling down cliffs or getting shot by their own guns – but there sadly aren't any outrageous pick-axe battles or virulent dog attacks. What a shame! What's the point of a sequel if it even fails to surpass the level of grossness and/or gratuitous filth of the original? Luckily enough the film is never boring or unnecessarily sentimental, and you'll have the most fun spotting all the things that don't make the slightest bit of sense! For example, wallets falling out of people's bloodied heads, women without any muscle power cast as tough-ass soldiers and – my personal favorite – assigning the ONE soldier with a speaking disability to operate the radio communications.

Not as good as the 1st one. A few laughs!

I agree with what other people are saying that the director of this movie(Martin Weisz) was wrong for it,and that the director of the 1st one should have done it.The first one was excellent even though it's a remake. I hoped that the survivors of the 1st one were gonna be in it even if only a cameo. At least they were mentioned and the plot of this new one seemed believable. It started out OK when the first couple of murders inevitably happened, but then once the military youth got on the scene it got annoying.I couldn't stand any of them except for "Napoleon"(played by Michael McMillian)because he seemed different and more intelligent then the other morons.I noticed one of the guys in the group was his brother but you would never know it by the way it was so badly portrayed.I mean there was no connection between them. And he wouldn't even stand up for his own brother when he was being bullied by a few of the other's.And then when Napoleon sees the dead body of his brother he barely acknowledges it.He should have been shaken up and not act like he was just an acquaintance. In reality seeing a member of your family slain that way would cause some deep emotion, sadness and anger. What can I say, very poor character development all around.I mean in the 1st film when you saw the family members they seemed genuine like a real family and you cared about them.In this inferior (so called )sequel,I hated most of them and was anticipating their deaths.I hated "Crank" the Mexican guy the most played by Jacob Vargas and couldn't wait for him to be slaughtered.Unfortunately it didn't happen until closer to the end and I had to put up with his obnoxious comments and behavior.I was waiting for one of them to punch the scumbag out but none of them had any balls.Nothing about his character made any sense including the stupid way he died. The script didn't need such a loser of a character and feel the film suffered by this character. He was of no use to anyone and should have at least been killed off from the start. There is a very funny scene however which was done well.It is the scene when Napoleon is using the outhouse and a hand comes up through the toilet as he was taking a dump.It is funny, disgusting and a little disturbing. All I can say is it's not the worst sequel, but was expecting something better especially since it was written by Wes Craven and his son.I won't be seeing any other films this director is involved with.

Enjoyable

Having little remnants of memories from what one could tell by the sequel (if you haven't watch the first part), you would get a rough idea that an American family traveling along the highway decided to take a stop at Sector 16 (which is a top-class army confidential area used for testing A-bombs) and that by dawn, half the family were already dead. Their disappearance, mysterious; their deaths, terrifying and brutal. A search and destroy mission was called on and later, scientists were sent to scavenge the area for clues. And yeah, whoever made it in there, will never get out again, the initial beginnings of this movie focuses on the rapid elimination of the team in site. Prior to their deaths, they radioed in for supply from a training base camp, located not far away.Upon their deaths, viewers are given a slice of how war in Kandahar would seem like in the training camp. A bunch of new recruits were being tested on their battle stints and wits, where of course, being amateurs, they failed the test miserably. Their sergeant was the least happy needless to speak considering the amount of stuffs his recruits know about survival and teamwork. Well then, that will pave much for the ongoing story as you get a glimpse of each and every of the victim's behaviors. Having received the transmission on the lack of supply in Sector 16, they were the first team out to send it over. What they found was a desolated and an abandoned campsite. Having scoured the area for a few, they noticed a reflected sunlight beam from one of the hills coupled with weak radio transmissions calling in for distress. A search and rescue team was dispatched while leaving behind two other soldiers (PFC Napoleon and PFC Amber) to aid in calling for reinforcements and possible medivac. The setting was clear and simple, the objective sharp yet somehow altruistic, but what seemingly appears to be like an easy mission turns out ghastly for the group of soldiers when undesired mishaps started to occur. PFC Mickey got himself plunged towards a covered mine and fractured his ankle causing him to be aborted from the mission, PFC Napoleon and PFC Amber discovered a victim (probably from the prequel) in the stink-hole, they then discovered their missing rifles and severed intercom plus a roasted truck (their one way ticket out from no man's land). What happens later confirms their disadvantage in coping within that hill itself. PFC Amber got mugged by one of the nuke-mutated alien, PFC Mickey got in just in time to fire a shot at that alien, PFC Mickey then gets pulled in from one of the hill-holes as a revenge by the alien - which is a small hole mind u, and the alien only got hold of one of his legs, pulling him through and inside into the hole leading to a comminuted fracture of his pelvis I would suppose... Gory! That's enough to send the girls in the cinemas screaming and hiding their heads behind their boyfriend's while some who don't have any, made use of their popcorn packs or their jackets. At this time, the rescue team had already discovered what they initially set out to, a dead scientist which is enough to warrant them a trip back down. However, the worse was yet to come as a smooth journey up does not equate to one down. What seems to be rather convincing in this horror flick turned for the worse when their leader of the group, yes the sergeant gets killed accidentally (I hate these accidental stuffs, but of course, it's a human mistake) through a friendly fire shooting in which one of the PFCs thought that he was shooting at the mutated beings. From then on, it was the pick of the creatures on which victim to fry first. The remaining small team found the earlier commanding officer, Colonel Reeding lying by a crevice with his major stab wound through his thoracic cavity. Amazing that he was still alive when they found him especially after being stabbed and thrown from a great height. He warned them about the creatures which eliminates all the man and keeps the woman for breeding to keep up with their numbers. Having said that, he showed them the way down the hill, by shooting himself in the head and falling of the mountains. That was a wee bit uncalled for yet it was rather silly to be considered for such an act...The thrill and the horror kept drawing nigh as the team decided to get down the hill by entering to the danger zone itself - the abandoned mine. Their options vanished when one of their team-members PFC Missy was captured and taken into the mine. The horror trails from one end to another which progressively reduces the group members to mere nothingness. The first hour was spent on seeing the misery of the victims on how they suffered from being killed in the most unattractive manner and besides, the director did not fail on showing you a rape scene on PFC Missy for the purpose of breeding, and the earlier introduction of the movie on the previous prequel victim who delivered a baby and gets axed. How interesting. The later part of the movie gives a grant for the viewers when the victims turned the tables on their predators. Ghastly, inhumane and evilish desires reek out from the victims, evidently by their way of crediting retribution to the loathsome creatures.

Kick Ass Sequel

I enjoyed this film very much, even more than the 2006 release The Hills Have Eyes. Don't get me wrong, they both are awesome horror flicks and they are directed by one of favorite directors, Wes Craven. I just felt like the second Hills Have Eyes had more action and intense scenes. The killings were more graphic though. The cast members were great, especially Jessica Stroup(Prom Night and 90210) and Daniella Alonso(Wrong Turn 2) and Michael McMillian. All three of then kicked ass in this flick, as they fought back against the mutant cannibals. This movie really rocked, especially that the national guard trainees are stranded out in the hills and come face to face with a group of vicious mutants in a blood soaked battle for survival. Im hoping for a third installment to come out sometime, but really, check this kick ass film out!!

I somehow missed the first one, a remake of a pretty decent drive-in cannibal flick from the 1970s. This sequel follows a bunch of military types on exercise in the desert when they run afoul of a flesh-eating mutant clan. So much of the running time is spent wandering around caves and mine shafts, with very little else going on, after awhile I thought I was watching an episode of DIRTY JOBS. Seriously, if you're looking for a good gore flick, don't stop here. Watch one of the SAW movies or HIGH TENSION instead. There is some gore here, but not nearly enough. There's also a rape scene, but don't be misled by what you may have heard: It's more suggested than shown. The acting is predictably atrocious. And while the mutants weren't bad-looking, I prefer the mutants in WRONG TURN. Those guys had looks and personality!

Better than most but...

A unit of National Guard soldiers arriving at a New Mexico outpost to deliver equipment to some atomic scientists discovers that the scientists have mysteriously vanished. When they attempt to go look for them & find out what's going on, they are attacked by a band of hideously deformed cannibalistic mutants who slaughters them all one by one in grisly violent fashion. Sequel to the 2006 horror film, which was itself a remake of Wes Craven's original 1977 horror hit & supposed remake of 1983's THE HILLS HAVE EYES 2, is well, really not a remake of the 1983 sequel at all, in fact this is an entirely new story than what Hills 2 (1983) story was. The original Hills 2 followed a group of teens stalked in the mountains by the surviving cannibalistic members of the original bloodbath & featured the surviving good guys from Part 1 as well, HILLS 2 (2007) has none of the original cast members from the 2006 remake or any of it's original bad guy mutants coming back for the sequel, instead we have an all new series of bad guy mutants stalking some more potential victims. Though the film never does answer the question as to where these mutants were during the original film's action. Once again we are treated to a series of bloody, nasty murders & grotesque monster make-up effects, however unlike the 2006 remake, the film has no characters we can really root for since the characters in this sequel are all flat & one dimensional, not to mention foul mouthed & tough guy acting & spend most of the film shouting & insulting one another to the point where you may find yourself rooting for the mutants to finish them off just so they can be off the screen & WES CRAVEN & his son JONATHAN CRAVEN's script has none of the 2006 films tension & scares or the leavening sense of impact after you've finished watching it, despite a couple of scares scattered about here & there. In fact, the film may fade from your memory within a few days of seeing it since there's nothing really all that memorable about it. The film also feels overlong & drawn out even at a 90 minute running time & most of the films climatic action takes place in a dark cave where it's very hard to see what's going on most of the time weather or not this was the directors intention or a result of poor lightning choices on his part, is unknown. The direction also is a bit flat at times. All in all, if looked at as a stand alone horror film, HILLS 2 has the the upper hand on most current horror movies & their remakes (though considering how bad a lot of recent horror movies & their remakes are, the filmmakers on this one didn't have to try very hard) but when compared to the 2006 remake, it's nowhere near as good. A good effort but it could have been better. The film also leaves the door wide open once again for a third entry & considering the fact that Wes's son wrote & directed a film called that was supposed to be an in name only sequel to the original 1977 film & it's 1983 sequel, called MIND RIPPER (OUTPOST/HILLS 3) in 1995, don't be surprised to see another sequel or at least another "remake" of Part 3. Still despite it's may faults, it's worth a look for horror fans, just don't expect it to top the 2006 remake.*** stars

Hell is the easy alternative.

Wow! What a roller coaster ride of a nightmare movie The Hill Have Eyes II is. German born Martin Weisz, along with the writing of Jonathan Craven and Wes Craven has done enough damage to the central nervous system to highlight the dangers of terror that these National Guard trainees have to endure. Stuck in the New Mexico Rockies and being totally out of their depth, amateurs in the line of fire who are slowly coming to terms of the deadly realisation that the hunters are sometimes just as deadly as the hills they occupy. This is a tight ship of tension and with an excellent eerie soundtrack from Trevor Morris (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 2003, The Last Samurai 2003, King Arthur 2004 and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 2006 to name a few). It is the soundtrack of death and entrapment that the devil will whistle to you as he calls your name as the tingles run along your spine. Also too, is the brutal helplessness that the female recruits are dealt, a worse case scenario that the prospect of death can only redeem the unwilling participants of the future generations of this mutant clan. This is striking make-up that will violate the visual senses set against the beautiful leading ladies who have the laws of human nature fighting against the laws of this hideous rocky remote outback. With striking, shocking and surprising insensitivity that goes beyond the brink of sanity, this is madness that stops at nothing to justify its existence and The Hill Have Eyes II is the reminder of the dealings of mans most primal fear: Death, by extreme pain.

If a Wal-Mart was built....

In all fairness this film is in scale with the mass schlock cinema that has been churned out of 20th Century. They had the formula right, very similar to the original Alien movie (without the scary monster). The budget must not have been much as there were some greenscreen effects and some sad stage shots. the film also falls short of a story that goes somewhere. But I expected that, but also expected quality gore effects and a twisted score. Neither of which happened. As the story progressed into the caverns of "retarded-ness", I began to ask myself several things, such as "Is there another feature film(at this megaplex)which I could sneak into?", "If five of them survive, this movie could be over soon!", and lastly "Where was the Wal-Mart?". My mind drifted as the scenes dragged on. If a Wal-Mart was built there at Section 16, most of the conflicts within the story would be solved just minutes into the film, saving the rest of my day for my Sunday chores. If a Wal-Mart was built the mutants could get new clothes, and material goods for their cave....cavewares on aisle 34. If a Wal-mart was built the freaks could get jobs to buy those material goods. If a Wal-Mart was built those slobbering perverts could gain social skills and become part of a functioning society. If a Wal-Mart was built the normal people would been able to purchase ammo, shovels, fishing poles, whatever it took to eradicate the vermin from their holes, and force them to ....get jobs at Wal-Mart. Fade to black...

Awesome horror flick

This movie delivered in every aspect that it promised from the previews. Excellent horror movie. This movie definitely keeps the viewer on the edge of his seat from beginning to end. There are no slow points, and the constant action is accented by well written conflict between all the main characters. Conflict is the essence of drama, and "Hills Have Eyes 2" delivers high-tension throughout.Excellent gore effects. This movie takes us back to the genre films of the late 1970s and early 1980s, except now the special effects are far more superb. The flesh wounds are painfully realistic. Every retard is disgustingly detailed and eerily deformed. The effects were effective, realistic, and disturbing. Whether you are looking at the weird, misplaced eye-ball of a mutant, or the blood squirting from a severed limb, it all looked disgustingly real. The lead actress, Jessica Stroup, was excellent as PFC Amber Johnson. Her performance was so vulnerable, you couldn't help but fall in love with her. And yet, she was so strong, you are rooting for her as she kicks mutant butt! Definitely MY KIND OF WOMAN! I am looking forward to seeing Jessica in more films, hopefully of the brutal horror variety. She was stunning, hot, and a lot of fun to watch.I already own the first "Hills Have Eyes" remake. I liked that one a lot, too. And when this one comes out on DVD, I will definitely add it to my collection. I loved the concept of these soldiers wandering through the desert and going toe-to-toe with the cannibals. That is such an awesome idea for a movie, and they definitely did it right. Totally entertaining, disturbing, riveting, and fun.For a horror movie, I give this one a 10. If you like horror and you are a genuine fan of the genre, then you will love this movie. But if you are not truly a fan of horror movies, then you are not going to enjoy it. You will only be disturbed and grossed out. That is what these movies do best! Great movie, great story, great gross out scenes, great entertainment.

I wasn't at all impressed by the first film 'The Hills Have Eyes (2006)', despite that fact I decided to watch 'Hills 2' out of curiosity, to see if it was at all possible to make a bad franchise even worse. It took less than 20minutes for that query to be answered. The American army should have sued the filmmakers for their portrayal of the national guard, specifically one scene within those first 20mins where the sergeant answers a radio by saying "Hello?", as if he was in some kind of 80s slasher film or maybe he'd just never used a walkie-talkie before? Then he asks one of the rookie squad member "what's the range on this thing". If that wasn't bad enough his squad is made up of idiots, who at any sign of danger take their helmets off and aim their weapons at each other; if the mutants hadn't killed them, they would have surely killed each other. This is unbelievably bad script writing and it shocks me that no one realised this in the script writing stage, especially when a script usually goes through several rewrites before a final one is drafted, even then rewrites can take place during filming, yet no one thought to mention that it was unrealistic and laughable. This film has a terrible script, cast and director; it came out less than a year after the first film, which all adds up to mean one thing, they rushed this film to piggyback on the minor success of the first film. In other words this film was made as cheaply and as quickly as possible so that the producers could make themselves a few extra pennies.

This movie sucks

I am a soldier in Iraq and i recently watched this movie and it disgusts me. I hate watching movies with the army in them cause they never get it right, nobody calls their sergeant "Sarge" that ridiculous and no women in the army would be in a combat mos (job) even though they are hot. They make the army look like a bunch of whinny wussies and i couldn't even finish watching the movie...I guess this has to be 10 lines so i'm just ramble on, nobody in this movie even closely resembles a soldier and i know that its a movie and its gonna be dramatized but seriously lets at least get it somewhat close, Even in a "training" environment as they were in you would never leave your weapon anywhere without you thats a part of you and they were all jacked up

Average sequel

I read the reviews before I watched it. People didn't seem to be very enthusiastic about this movie but I decided to give it a try anyway. Having low expectations, I was rather satisfied. I wanted gore. It delivered! I wanted mutants. It delivered as well! I wanted the rape scene not to be too hard, as I'm getting tired of all the new horror films having sexual violence in them. It was not so bad. It sure wasn't as shocking as the rape scene in the first one. Overall The Hills Have Eyes II is dumb and fun. A lot of blood, very nice looking chicks, mutants with almost supernatural forces and some very decent fight scenes. At first I thought the characters were annoying. In the end I liked them, especially the two heroes. They were my favorite characters since the beginning! Like some people mentioned, it sometimes looks like The Descent. Believe me, The Descent is way better! And so is Aja's remake of The Hills Have Eyes. This one is nothing but an average sequel. Keep this in mind and you might have a good time. Just don't expect too much!

The hills are alive with the sound of idiocy.

I'd really like to take this movie apart and detail every little facet of it that I didn't like but, frankly, it's more than this title deserves. A good horror movie should be believable. Specifically, the emotions and actions of the characters in response to the situations they are in should be believable. They aren't in this movie. The characters themselves aren't remotely believable; they are supposed to be soldiers but instead act like poorly trained and poorly led idiots. Had the filmmakers done ANY research on the military before making this it might have been a lot better. As it is, however, it's laughably stupid throughout; a group of boyscouts without adult supervision would have fared better than these "soldiers".This is a movie that's only enjoyable when you have friends watching it with you so that you can make fun of it. It is true Mystery Science 3000 fodder...and that's the best thing I can say about it.

Not the best horror film.

I normally enjoy horror films with cannibals, but for me, The Hills Have Eyes 2 was just dull, bland and quite boring. It had all the normal elements of a cannibal film, for example the violence, the killing, the band of survivors, but it didn't seem to be adventurous. It just seemed to stick to the normal elements of a normal cannibal film. I think the director and writers should have strayed into newer territory, become a bit more adventurous and tried something new. It might have worked. But for me, this seemed like the same film as the first one. Not the best film in the world, it didn't exactly have me gripped. But it had its funny moments.

I had heard mixed views about this film but I had to see it anyway. I enjoyed the first so it's only right to see the second. I have to say, I personally didn't find the characters as good as the first. Mainly because I was expecting this group to be a little more...on the ball shall we say. They in fact made some silly errors that got them into a spot of bother ;) (i know, i know, it's only a film!). Some things are predictable but then to keep the balance there are some that aren't. It made me jump a couple of times and i'm not normally the jumpy kinda person! It def stuck to its gruesome line of things, especially in the first few minutes (imo!). Overall, it was a good film, i'd def tell people to watch it. Maybe I was just expecting a bit too much for this kinda film?!

Good horror movie- weak cast

posted on 05 Jun 2009

This time around, we accompany a group of National Guard out in the desert who take part in an Iraq training scenario and are then sent to look after a military group working near mines. That first group of course vanished. There's the gruesome intro, then we follow the military doing their work. Then we get to meet the National Guard group. There are 20 minutes of introduction of our characters that is fairy weak, except for the Iraq drill part. That is very well made. But the introduction to our diverse (of course) characters is not particularly interesting. The problem there is the cast. Some of these people just can't act. The casting director must have been asleep. Although Jessica Stroup is a cutie. The story is suspect in so far as it's hard to believe that National Guard are this goofy. There's the usual requirements of horror movies of our cast going into the craziest of places without thinking twice and the obligatory "I'm not leaving without so and so!" etc. But once the action start, the movie transforms and it's creepy, scary, and tense. There are some good gore scenes and jump-out-of-your-seat moments. I was actually surprised at how effective this movie was. I wish it had worked a little bit more in establishing the bad guys's characters. We don't really know about them, who's who and what their deal is. For a sequel this is pretty good.

Hello ?! I'd rather have someone stare up my hole while peeing than go where no one can see you and get captured by the Hillbillies ! now the rape scene ....1st of all we had a rape in the 1st THHE ! mutant-on-girl rape is definitely nothing we wanna see for a 2nd time ! 2nd ... there was a huge discussion after the 1st movie, if Brenda got raped or not (and come on people ... are you blind ?! of course she was raped!), in the 2nd part there will be no room for interpretation whatsoever !! Missy gets raped full on by the big, ugly, mutated, drooling hillbilly ! yuck yuck yuck !! Wes Craven must be a sadist to shove a scene like that down our throats again !! what's wrong with you, you pervert !?! get lost, and crawl back under the rock you came from ! Except for that particular scene the movie was hilarious .... me and a friend we laughed our asses off quite a few times! It's a popcorn movie (we used the popcorn to throw it at the screen though), with quite a lot of gory, bloody scenes.and the blows with the big hammer to the "sensitive parts" of Papa Hades ?!? nice ??!! talking about vengeance ... !! you go girl !!!

A Review of "The Hills Have Eyes II"

posted on 30 May 2009

The Hills Have Eyes II The Hills Have Eyes II is once again set in the desert in New Mexico about 3 weeks after the events of the first movie. A bunch of National Guard trainees and their sergeant are told to bring supplies to scientists in Sector 16. But as soon as they get there and find no one there, suspicions run high and they set out to find them. As soon as they find out what happened to the scientists, they must fight for their own survival and try to make it out of the hills alive. The only question is, can they? I thought this movie had a less of a plot than the first one, but the more blood and gore certainly makes up for it. The cast in this movie is young, but no one in particular. I do like the first one better because it had a better plot, but if you are into gore, this will be your favorite. The only significant people that were involved in this movie were Wes and Jonathon Craven, the guys that wrote the movie.I recommend this movie to people who are a fan of blood and gore and horror movies, or anyone who wants to give it a shot like I did.

Absolutely Brilliant

I was eagerly awaiting the second instalment of The Hills Have Eyes and when I saw this I wasn't disappointed. The plot seems a bit far-fetched but the overall result of GORE and Suspense made this film one of the best sequels I have seen in the horror movie industry (apart from Saw2 and Scream2).The woman giving birth to the mutant at the beginning was an absolute cringe moment and the rape scene was too but the rest of the film focused on giving you jumps and gore GALLORE.Overall the movie was better than I had expected and I am hoping the prequel is made soon!
