The only I wish warner had released the dvd in widescreen or "letterbox"formot!!!Other than have kick back and enjoy this with very fuuny movie from the guy that did the airplane! movies and naked gun movies!!!
Check your brain at the door.
posted on 16 Mar 2009I won't say much else other than if you are looking, even for half decent satire. This movie isn't it. Every gag was seen comming form 100 miles away. Leslie Neilsen has done much better than this ripe load of trash. Every old comedy gag was done to death, and it was painful to watch. Watch Airplane, or Naked Gun. Those are what satire is supposed to be done like. And two of Neilsen's best. 1/10
Leslie Nelson at His BEST!
posted on 07 Mar 2009This DVD is great! The movie is just as good as the Naked Gun movie series, and this time it's an spoof on "The Fugitive". The DVD contains interviews with this movie's cast, and the director shows how some the special effects were completed in "Wrongfully Accused". You will laugh from begining to end.
Don't Take this Film Serious, ENJOY!
posted on 18 Jan 2009Looked forward to seeing this film and especially Leslie Nielsen,(Ryan Harrison), "FoxFire Light",'82, going crazy through out the entire picture non-stop at the age of 72. Richard Crenna,(Lt.Fergus Falls),"Sabrina",'95 kept after Ryan Harrison, who did every thing funny to try and catch his most wanted Criminal. The entire picture was CORNBALL, but the film was intended to make you laugh, relax and enjoy an old timer pull the wool over his entire cast of stars. Please don't take this film serious and don't pick it a part, it is not worth IT ! Someday, this film just might become one of Leslie Nielsen's Classic Films, even if the jokes were really off the wall and some of the scenes were NUTS!
A real pleasant surprise
posted on 13 Nov 2008(Actually, I'd rather give it 3.5 stars, but it's closer to 4 than 3.) After "Spy Hard", I was really prepared not to like "Wrongfully Accused". It has received flak enough in the papers, and I actually thought Leslie Nielsen had been playing this kind of part for too long and that there was nothing he could do that I hadn't seen before. Boy, was I wrong. He's just been warming up. Though not as funny as the first Naked Gun film (The film against which I now measure all comedies), it's way better than "Spy Hard". I laughed real hard at some small touches like the bouncing prisoner transport bus (it's not intelligent humour, okay, but it looked - and sounded - so silly, I had to laugh in spite of myself !), and the scene where Nielsen was chased by the derailed train from hell (The scene where the train "peeped" out from its "hiding place" - you gotta see it to understand it - was almost horrific enough for a horror movie!). And Richard Crenna was simply wonderful in his Tommy Lee Jones parody. But no-one has better delivery than Nielsen. No-one but him could say lines like "You're lying like a banana ! -They come in big yellow bunches !" and the "Now all I have is a one-way ticket to Palookaville !" speech and make them sound believable. But, as with all his comedies, you probably have to like this particular genre to really appreciate it. I do, and I did.
Nielsen's Third Best Movie Only To Naked Gun and Spy Hard!
posted on 29 Oct 2008I love this movie everytime I watch it. The cast is good. The gags are great. Now the plot: Comic legend Leslie Nielsen is Ryan Harrison, a master violinist and habitual womanizer. During his concert tour in Columbia Heights, Minnesota, Lauren Goodhue(Kelly LeBrock), wife of his sponsor, billionaire businessman Hibbing Goodhue(Michael York), falls for him in the worst possible way. When Harrison refuses her advances, he finds himself in a rut when lured to the Goodhue house to find Goodhue dead and himself the prime suspect. Found guilty of murder and sentenced to death by four brutal methods at once(which you can only get away with in a spoof film), a bus/train crash give Harrison a chance to ecsape and clear his name. On his trail is U.S. Marshal Ferguson Falls, played by Richard Crenna. Who killed Hibbing and why? Find the answers and be prepared for barrels of gags, laughs, and fun when you watch this movie. 10 out of 10.
Better than Borat
posted on 26 Oct 2008This movie was a series of bad out takes and failed jokes from other movies. That's my guess. The jokes were so obvious and flubbed so badly. However, I kept thinking now that I have seen Borat, every bad movie seems less bad. At least it wasn't entitled "Wrongfully Accused - A Cultural Study of Minnesota". It was just a movie. I didn't pretend to be about something. I think the producers knew that this movie was a dud. It was a movie that was intended to be bad. That's a lot more honest than Borat, which pretended to be about something. The vulgarity and crudeness in Wrongfully Accused was at least tamer and less repugnant than in Borat. At some point, the movie did get funny for awhile. I thought the Mission Impossible "computer scene" was hilarious. I was rolling on the floor. The movie was bad, but at least it mocked it's badness. Even at the end, with the Titanic scene, the point was there was no romantic ending. Even the romance, was an excuse for bad jokes. So, in conclusion, it was better than Borat. It didn't pretend to be about anything significant.
Funny spoof
posted on 17 Oct 2008Pat Proft's Wrongfully Accused is a funny parody of many films (examples: Titanic, The Fugitive, Basic Instinct, Lord of the Dance, Anaconda, etc.) that is well played by Leslie Nielson. It may not be a good film story wise (it is pathetic as Nielson's tupee), but Nielson is always the best at parody comedy and with a co-writer from the original Naked Gun, this film turns out to be a pretty good comedy.
One of the most hillarious SPOOF films!!!
posted on 17 Sep 2008This movie was one of Nielsen's best spoof films. It made fun of the Fugitive, Clear and Present Danger, Mission Impossible, and others as well as having some original hillarious content. I found it funnier than Spy Hard and the Naked Gun series. Although this type of movie "has been done before" it is still original enough to make you burst out laughing. If you don't like spoofs don't get this movie...as you can see with some of the other comments. If you do like spoofs this is a must have movie!!!!
Better than his last few
posted on 08 Sep 2008While not quite at the level of the Naked Guns, this movie was much better than his last few films (Dracula, Mr. Magoo, etc). If you liked the Naked Gun series, you won't be disappointed. Considering the Naked Gun Series sort of slipped as each one went on, I'd say this was about as funny as if they'd had done a "Naked Gun 1/4", which is still funnier than Mafia or Baseketball.
Fugitive, Titanic, Baywatch, this movie's got it all!
posted on 09 Aug 2008The "Lord of the Violin," Ryan Harrison was being Wrongfully Accused.. Apparently the perfect crime had been committed and it was up to him(Leslie Nielsen) to find the culprit and put him behind bars.. What leads to his find is not just funny, it's hilarious.. Some people may not like it, but I laughed all the way through.
Very funny
posted on 03 Aug 2008If you enjoyed The Naked Gun and Airplane, then definitely see this movie. It is very underrated, but I see it as the best of the post-Naked Gun Leslie Nielsen flicks. Here is something interesting for ya: my mom thoroughly enjoyed this movie, however, she did give up on the Naked Gun.
Even the credits are funny
posted on 22 Jun 2008From the moment the words "Leslie Nielson is... Leslie Nielson... in: Wrongfully accused" appear on the screen, you'll know (if you like the genre) that you're in for a treat. The jokes "are like bannanas: they come in big yellow bunches", and will get you laughing so hard that you might end up with a plate of spaghetti wrapped around your arm. In this movie, Nielson, portraying (Jack) Ryan Harrison (Ford), is in trouble. He "has a gun, not with him, but he's got one", and he's been framed for the murder of a famous diplomat, Hibbing Goodhue, the husband of Lauren Goodhue. When Harrison arrives at the house for a romantic meeting with Lauren (and to bring some 2% milk for her), he is attacked by a mystery man with one arm... and one leg and one eye. He is taken on a pleasant bus ride destined for "a hellish prison", but the bus suffers an unfortanate accident involving a bannana peel, which allows Harrison to escape his fate and attempt to prove his innocence.
The escape of several prisoners destined for prison catches the attention of Police man Fergus Falls (the first name is spelled way off, sorry), who brilliantly parodies Tommy Lee Jones from both US Marshals (which I've actually seen) and the Fugitive (Which I still need to see). He has his work cut out for him though, since Harrison is "as slick as a lizard in Jerry Lewis's hair" and, with Harrison slowly bringing the true perpitrators to Falls' attention, he realizes that "this case has more twists and turns than Chubby Checker in a blender".
Harrison also has help from the beautiful Cass Lake, whose motives are unclear, and whom Harrison can never trust. Will they fall in love, or will Harrison leave her, quoting Beatles lyrics with wild abandon? Will he find the one armed, one legged, one eyed man before he attempts an assassination with a bionic leg? Will Harrison ever get the diaper smell out of his clothes? You'll just have to watch the movie to find out.
I thought it was funny, but not Neilsons best movie
posted on 10 Jun 2008This movie was a pure comedy. It had good comedy, not the usual "nun and pope in a boat" dry comedy. Yet it is not Neilson's best work. I think that The Naked Gun was his funniest and best to date. I think that Neilson is a great actor, and I would like to see him in a serious role.

Great film
posted on 10 Aug 2009Wrongfully Accused is truly a triumph in cinematography. It has all the great components of a classic comedy, and it really is one. It is fun, smart, and witty, and you would have to be a fool to disagree. Although some may feel that it is a stupid, rather horrible portrayal of The Fugitive, I say that they must simply open their minds and realize that this is a satire of several movies, and each allusion continues to get funnier and funnier as the movie progresses. A great movie. Once again, I feel that Wrongfully Accused deserves everyone's respect because it has all of the contents and ingredients of a great comedy, which it is. In my opinion, Wrongfully Accused should be considered a wonderful parody of The Fugitive, Casablanca, Braveheart, and Mission Impossible. In my perspective, Wrongfully Accused is a great movie, and you just have to see it to believe it. Give it a try, and I am sure you will learn to appreciate it.
